Arizona Chickens

Got off the phone with Flower. She is not going to be able to make it down her to get Mary. So she is up for adoption. She is a wonderful mother.

She is a Buff Orpington.

I still have 4 girls at Demo's that need a good home. I have one in Tucson, but getting them there is a problem. I thought I might have a way but to many things are going on to organize it. They are great girls. Please let me know.

Our new teen rooster has even more of a swag, limp.. We are sad... He does seem to have re-injuried it.. Agh, :barnie
Nt going to keep him separate due to our new baby duckling.. She has the pen to herself... I gues you win some & loose some..
Still hoping for a speedy recovery.. If not we have a back up rooster..

Everyone have a safe & FUN memorial weekend. :highfive:

Ok I was up half the night bothered by this so I wanted to ask your opinion.

I went to buy two cayuga ducklings yesterday. I talked to this woman a lot in the last two days asking questions. She seemed very knowledgeable. She was going to keep her only 2 cayuga ducklings for me to pick up yesterday. I explained what all I had to do as my husband had a VA appt and it was last day of school so I couldn't give an exact time to get there but I did text her all day letting her know when I should be there.

When we got there she lives in a county residential area. That does not bother me other than im not sure how she can have room to raise several breeds of ducks and chickens and Turkey s.
She made us stay outside and brought out the ducklings. I was a little curious but I was excited to get my Cayuga's.
I really wanted to get local breed Cayuga not hatchery ones.
Anyway she brings out a bin and it has 3 ducklings. A blk crested, a Cayuga and a golden 500. I asked what happened to the other cayuga that she said she would keep for me. She said she sold him earlier and only had the female now.
I was very upset but I had my husband my son and my sons friend with me and they had already decided they wanted the Cayuga and the golden 500.
I have 4 crested and she was telling me the crested she has is not a real crested as the crested have neurological issues. That from what I was told is only in breeds that are not predisposed to crests.
Then I asked about eggs and this is where I get highly suspicious. I asked about Cayuga eggs color as mine are not laying age and I thought they were brown, dhe had to get her catalog stating she foes not know what color thry lay......um how are you a breeder? How is sheb incubating eggs?
After we have paid for our 2 ducklings she admits that she has bought hatchery chicks and resold them. That would be fine but im concerned she isen't breeding st all but is passing them off as her being the breeder. Ugh I am so frustrated! !!!!

Are these for adoption or for sale?

That is very frustrating. She sounds like a dishonest person. Did she actually tell you she was breeding these or did you assume she was? Because if she told you she was breeding and then admitted they were hatchery resells, she lied to you. It is too bad you had the whole crew there begging to buy, because if it was me, I'd have walked away. She didn't have what you wanted, really. And to sell the other one after you had contacted her several times indicates to me she is definitely doing this for the money. From a seller's viewpoint, and I sell a lot of birds, I know it can be extremely frustrating. People call, get your address, say they are coming, and then are no-shows and don't have the decency to call and let you know they aren't coming. But I can usually tell when someone is super serious and I give them the benefit of doubt. If I told someone I would hold the bird, I wouldn't sell it out from under them. If I don't want to hold it, I will tell them, first person who shows up, gets it. But to tell someone you'll hold it, and then not? Unethical.

I agree K9Dave why can't ppl be honest? She is on Tucson Clucks and is advertising there do I say something or let others be duped?

I can't stand when people screw me over. Either by asking to hold and I do or me asking and I get there and it's gone. Whatever it is. Doesn't matter if it's a penny.

I hold people responsible for their actions and post it everywhere that " I was done wrong by this person/company". Always blow the whistle or else they continue to do it forever.

In addition, I always praise those that do well and post those experiences as well as poor ones.
