Arizona Chickens

Was just out in the run, watering down the litter. Assumed the rest position in my chair, and watched one of the 2 week old BJG chicks strike a pose. He was standing tall and regal, with his little one inch tail erect. I was thinking this one must be a roo, and I'll have to name him Napoleon. After a minute or so, he turned his head to preen a feather on his back, and fell over sideways!

It is an epoxy paint, so must be mixed before use. Must be sprayed, I use a disposable PreVal sprayer. You could use it on a boat, but at $8-$10 for a 4 oz bottle, it would get pretty expensive pretty quick like.
It's super tough right? I only have a 14" aluminum boat so not very big. I'm sure it won't be cheap but if it lasts, it's worth it to me. I already did a hand Camo paint job on it with spray paint and it came out Real nice. I get compliments on it all the time. It was just something to do to a new boat. I new spray paint wouldn't last. Now I'm looking for a more permanent solution and thought about Duracoat. I'm putting in a Jetski motor in it sometime and a new paint job will need to follow.

Wanted to share some of my new babies. I love NN.

Just curious, how does he know it was coyotes and not a bobcat?

He doesn't for sure, but he is a little more "in town" than I am. Seems more likely to him and me that it was coyotes. They roam the eastside neighborhoods every night. Whatever it was took all 5 of his birds out of the yard and dragged them nearly 40yds away.

Welp, my buddy who took the other half of the chicks I raised up last year, got raided last night. Coyotes went over his 6' chain link and took his entire flock last night. He found some remains about 40yds away in a drainage.

What a bummer. He gave them a great place to live and roam, but it wasn't very secure. He's going to revisit that and get another flock in the spring.

That's a bummer. . We all have our chicken deaths. . Hope that does not stop them from "batten down the hatches", hopefully they'll get some more? What do you think? Are there for some more?

At least your not sharing all of your wonderful farm animals with us.. hu.. they are so cute..
The first post was from my cell, did not make sense AT all..
Little chicken has so many great animals!! Just the mention of farm animals for us is to far into the future.. We can
only day dream about it.. So we just by-pass the mention of them..

Today's veggie harvest. I apparently missed a zucchini last week which grew into this 18" monster. It's a shame because it's my only one this week and they never taste as good when they get too big. I'll find something to do with it. Maybe if I process it with some water It'll make a decent bread. No eggs yet today. Eleanor is broody and the other girls are busy trying to stay cool.

Stuff it with some type of meat - like sausage - top with marinara and cheese - bake until soft and yummy!! In Alaska they grew like this all the time - we often froze them stuffed for winter dinners. Kids loved them!
