Arizona Chickens

Stuff it with some type of meat - like sausage - top with marinara and cheese - bake until soft and yummy!! In Alaska they grew like this all the time - we often froze them stuffed for winter dinners. Kids loved them!
Thanks! I'm vegetarian but I'm sure stuffing it with rice and veggie crumbles (fake ground beef) would be good too.

I've raised assistance dogs for many years. Believe it or not, with this line I don't have to work too hard. They catch on quick and are exceedingly eager to please. They go at about 12 weeks, and then their "real" training starts. The malinois I got was a high drive, energy efficient super model. Sweet dog, but WOW. I did my best with training, then bred her to a super calm, sweet guy. Her pups were all just like her.
You know how some families, they are all just crazy? Even the ones that are raised outside the family? Yeah..that would be that particular line. I'm down to about 10 dogs now and life is less crazy. I'm no longer breeding or doing rescue, so I can have chickens and rabbits like we used to.
Sooooo nice to have a life again!

We're both parents Malinois ?

I AM THE CHICKEN WHISPERER!

On the other hand, Jenny (the lone survivor), is now the boss of the middle age clique. She will no longer allow me to touch her or pick her up. Before I put her in the run, she liked to sit on my shoulder and peck my ears (and crap on me!)

Well, Jenny has changed her mind, and we are friends again. She is probably jealous of all the attention Lorenzo has been getting. I built a roost, a little less than shoulder height when I'm sitting in my chair, and about an arms length away. When she wants attention, she will jump up on the roost, and hang at the corner nearest me. I extend my arm out, with my fingertips on the roost, and she will walk along my arm and sit on my shoulder again. Her buddies, the barred rock and the golden sex links then get jealous too. They have decided I am NOT the boogey man after all. After Jenny parks on my shoulder, they decide they need some of that too. I had all 5 perching on my shoulders (one of them was on my head) a few minutes ago. Had to do some real contortions to get them all off.

. We buried her in the flowerbed that she loved. Its always hard loosing a pet chicken, especially your first chicken.

hey brethren, whats up fellow chicken lovers?
a little Sussex Orpington told me that this was the thread to be in
mind if me, a mere amateur in the chicken world, join this thread?

Hello all! I've been reading about feeding during our hot summer months & have been feeding FF for years (happy discovery for the chickens). My question is what to feed the youngsters coming off of starter but avoiding too much calcium in their diet? I'm sure this has been covered but I can't find it. Thank you in advance & love all the helpful advice here!
