So I get to go to Gilbert in the wee morning hours to pick up my Nubian doeling. very excited and so is my son. His first 4-H doe. she comes from some great genetics so hopefully she will turn out great. We also might be getting a smaller doeling to use in a mini Nubian project. Chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, and goats oh my. lol
I will go to Kingman in July to get my pot bellied pigs and then in fall get my breeder pigs. I am very lucky to have a husband that not only likes my crazy animal habit but encourages it. Oh and I found a mini heifer cow so I might get a mini cow....yipee.:weee

Lol,,,, that's Funny too! :lau
..... And yes you are lucky! :hugs

Tea's egg production has been down the past week or 2. I found one egg smashed to smithereens in the nest box which I think may have been hers but her shell coloring has been off and after being smashed was hard to tell. Phil and Ony felt they needed to fight over the same nest box this morning so I'm assuming the egg was a casualty. It felt like it may have had a thin shell but again hard to tell when it's in a bazillion pieces covered in sticky yolk. She seems to be going through her first for real molt. They're all about 14 months now. The other girls look like they're starting to molt as well. Tea's just going through the worst of the 4. The one side of her neck is completely bare. I've been giving them more protein treats a few times a week. A little more mealworms than normal and a few more eggs than normal. Today was mixed greens salad with spinach and scrambled egg and worms. They of course pick all the good stuff out and leave all the lettuce behind. Hopefully she perks back up. I did check her for mites and any signs of anything else that could be wrong and she seems a-ok so i'm going to assume between the heat and molt she's just stressed out.
:lau In some places in the world that would be a nummy salad for people. :gig It grosses us out, and more so for me. I have eaten meal worm and still get shivers from the texture thing alone, and I really do not like the taste, But! It lookers wonderful form a chickens point of view. Having t To day I wax in gLebanon, Mo. Visited Cackle Hatchery. Google was there filming a virtual walk thru. I did a little filming. I will be posting it tomorrow on YouTube. I hope to learn how to edit, I have a link to a good app to do that. I will also be working on a separate chain ale for my TRAVELS WITH CHICKENS, to make it easier to find. Work in progress. Having trouble uploading
