I would add that at the time I put my feeder plans on BYC, you could remove pictures and content. If I had known BYC would have that kind of control over the page I never would have posted it here.

I just discovered that someone took my treadle feeder plans and is mass producing them in China and selling them in Pet Club stores. It makes me sick.

Quote: Built in China for a guy in South Bend, IN. The copyright issues came up with talks I had with Nifty (Rob, owner of BYC) when I first found people selling my plans using my actual pictures. He said that anything we post on BYC is copyrighted by BYC. Any pictures you post here cannot be removed even if you decide to leave. You can find the BYC terms of service here. I find some parts of the BYC tos a bit disturbing.
Upon closer inspection it looks like the company might be based in China with US headquarters in CA. Probably not a thing I can do.

Wow. So many of us jump right in to websites like this and never read that stuff. I always thought you could remove photos, since I have read old posts and found images no longer there. Guess they changed it. How did you discover they were using your plans?

Sorry about your plans being stolen and used, Gallo. On the other hand, I am happy to hear that people can't delete photos from BYC any more. Several formerly great threads have become useless for reference because all of the relevant photos have disappeared.

****, that sucks, Gallo. Can BYC do anything since now I guess your plans are technically copyrighted by BYC?
Okay, I'm back from vacation! Yahoo, my chickens survived. Even my garden did okay, though the bed of squash didn't make it. Replanted on Sunday, should be golden in a few weeks.
My EE is broody...I'm not sure when that started. I didn't think EE's were prone to broodiness, but didn't someone else here recently have an EE go broody as well? I'm not sure what to do with her, I guess I should break her but I don't really have a broody breaker space, lol. Obviously too hot to give her meatie chicks. What about coturnix quail chicks? They do better in heat. Could she raise a different species for a couple of weeks?
Well, I'm off to do a new google search on chickens raising quail...and searching for cortunix quail chicks locally.
