Arizona Chickens

I wish we did not have them here, sadly we do. One of my clients hade a date with one while doing yard work.. He was rushed to the hospital, His thumb was almost removed... Poor guy.. We have a ton of black widows.. I go out at night with a flash light & a fly swatter..
I don't know about ya all, but the last few weeks I have been exsausted.. I don't even have the engry to check in here.

. oh wait I gave up coffee..
I planted the tree in early spring as soon as I didn't have to worry about bringing it in from cold nights. I was at a vacant house this afternoon( getting flipped) in Scottsdale and it had a good sized one in the front yard, looked like it had been pruned regularly. We have Recluse spiders, just not a lot. They like to stay in hiding so one wouldn't find it hanging out on a wall. I've ran into a couple under trailors. Congratulations on giving up the coffee, or black poison as I like to call it. As soon as its out of your system you should feel your regular energy come back.

I need to find a home for a couple of 12 week old BCM roosters. Anyone interested?
To a good home only. If they are going to be eaten, I'll do it myself. :)
Asking $10 to make sure they are wanted. (pullet is not for sale)
"big rooster" is the one in front. He is a little bigger than the other one, has quite a bit more copper and some feathers on his legs.
"little rooster" is the one in back. He has less copper but the black is very shiny and he has a great personality. No feathers on legs.
Both have been hand raised and fed organic, soy free, corn free feed and are already free-ranging during the day. They come from local chickens so they should be heat tolerant.
I live in the East Valley of Phoenix but travel to Tucson regularly.

hi all its been a bit. sry I dropped off the face of the earth for the last week or so. We were planning on the poultry meeting and had a flat tire. no biggie we got some slime per a suggestion and well the slime worked in one tire but not the other. we spent all day waiting for my friend to find me a tire that would fit as I could not drive and leave my house. finally come about 5:45 she was able to bring a tire and we went and got it put on. then my cable box went out and we had to replace that so no online for a few days. then some other hiccups so i have missed over 300 posts but i am back. @carnivore i have your seeds if you still want them. @desertmarcy I sent you a FB request with someone info that is seeking birds.

Quote: Hmmm..., another possibility, but the coloration seems off to me (that could be the pic too). It'd be good to have something to scale the size to, but it seems smaller than a giant crab spider.

I could be wrong on the id, but I am 99% sure the critter in that photo is a crab spider. Probably a young one, based on the color and apparent size. They are relatively small when they are young. It's the body structure and stance that clinch the id for me. Low slung stance with legs way out to the sides, which keeps the body close to the surface it is standing on. And the critter in the photo was found on a bedroom wall. Classic crab spider habitat and behavior. Plus it's that time of year. I've found several young ones in my place the last couple of weeks. If you could see it in motion there wouldn't be any question. Those things tend to move sideways. Fast.

Sweet!  That must have been great fun.  Where did you go and what did you catch them with?  Did you weigh that big one?  The dog proudly posing with the fish is great too.

The big one was the only one we weighed and it was 17 lbs. I think it was a little bigger. Ha. Me and a buddy went to Lake Pleasant and we caught all of those on small Bluegill. We had some real small bass but they never caught anything.
