Arizona Chickens

The feed store had almost full grown Cornish crosses for sale. $3.99 for meat that I barely have to feed? Of course I bought 4. They started out gross and poopy and "dumb"...everything everyone says about CX. Friday and Saturday, they did not explore beyond their coop. In fact, I don't even think they'd checked out their coop at all. But by this morning, they were already clamoring to get out and explore. The feed store folks had no idea how old they were (guesses ranged from 6 to 12 weeks, lol), I'm guessing they need another couple of weeks to reach full size. In the store...they looked huge! At home, I realized they aren't as big as I had thought. It's the old saying--never go to the store when you're hungry!

Hi. Just checking in. I've come into town. Been on the phone trying to get things done/taken care off long distance thing. Not much time left to read and catch up today. Will be coming in tomorrow to pick up more raw milk. I will be leaving this Saturday for MN. I have reLly enjoyed my time here. Ethal is getting ready to lay her first egg. :yesss: She is half Leg Bar they must mature late or it could be just because she is a mix. Sweetie is doing well, she is so much fun, quite a character, she acts like she wants to fly on those Silkie wings. I wish I could take hero the fair with me.

It's good to hear that everything is going well. Have you been doing any more fishing?

That could be very likely. I think that without closer examination (or finding it in a funnel web) the only thing we can say for sure about it is that it's a boy. Do you have funnel webs around on your property?
We have big black funnel web spiders all over our property inside and out of the house, i think all theses spiders that are showing up is because of our tick problem but that is just a guess lol.
