Arizona Chickens

Yeah I hear that the Delaware's are friendly, it is so hard to choose between sweetness & egg color!!

The four Delaware chicks we got are the most friendly so far. They are very assertive and they will be 3 weeks old on Monday! :)

Yeh they do

I shaved him because he was matted. Now that's torched to a kitty. I'm changing him over to the Raw Diet and it should be awesome to watch his "new" healthier hair come in. I can't stand cat hair but the love of my life loves them, go figure.

He looks ridiculous now. Lol

Lol!

We have a cat that hangs out near the coop all the time. When we got our first flock last year I thought maybe he was trying to get to them to eat them, but he really just wants to hang out around them.

I won't let him near the new babies until they get bigger than him, but he hangs out with our year old chickens all the time. They take his food right out of his mouth and he just lets them. It's funny...

Awww.

The longer haired kitties can really get matted. We used to have a Himalayan that was constantly matted. He would bite if you came near him with a brush. We had to take him to the groomer a couple of time a month just to keep him from getting sores under his hair. I vowed to never have a long haired cat again after that. Lol!

I was saying the other day how I wanted to get a barn cat due to obvious reasons. Then the dogs chased one the other day and I think it may live in the property but never comes near the house I don't think.

I know nothing about them. Should I put some food out by what I think is it's home? My thinking is maybe I could start to co hearse it to being the protector of our place. Any ideas?

We have cats that belong to us and stay around because they are pets, but we also have cats that people have dumped out here that I feed every night. They are feral, but will eat mice and whatever. I never see them during the day, but when I go out at night they are waiting for their food.

I always put the food in the same place every night and I know they come and eat it. Most cats will come to where the food is. I also have a small water trough that I keep full of water for them when it's dry out. it seems to work pretty well.
