Ok. Have 13 roosters. I don't want any necks. I think I'll have enough chicken don't you? Lol

Trying to read and catch up on all the reading, but I keep losing my Wi-FI connection, so I thought I better post then read. I hope no bad news, with all the rain at home. Phoenix is not equipped to handle rain like that. I know that when I was doing civil grafting we designed to handle 100 and 500 year rain. But not all at once. Is the drought over? The reservoirs filling up? Must be, I hope. But ground water there is no hope of filling up. That takes years.

I am in Montauk State Park in Southern MO. Trout fishing. It has been the time of my life. The case of hypothermia the first day. Had to buy wadders. Yesterday and today I started to caught fish. I never really did much trout fishing. Setting the hook is more difficult be course of there soft mouths. Once I learned the timing and how to properly set a hook I didn't do to bad. The limit is 4. I caught 3 yesterday, 1 still lively when I filmed it. The last 4 are today's. In the film I showed what I was warring for trout dishing in 40 degree water. Not a good idea, when it is cold out as well, for sure. You can see the smarter fisherman have not only wadders but more cloths. I am so glade I bought wadders, I couldn't really focuses on fishing. My girls have been enjoying fish as well. They have been very freaky the last couple of days.

I have meet a couple of people that have pet chickens. One woman said heather of her chickens lay anymore they are so old. She once had more, but desired that she did not want all the work, but she is attached to them. Another woman told me she had 3 Bantam chickens at home, then looked at her husband and said that they are going to have to fix something up so they can take them with them next time. Her husband did not look at all excited about taking chickens camping.

OOPPS LOST MY YOUTUBE CHANEL AND ALL MY VIDIOS! Need to figure it out. Will post it ASAP

You were asking for recommendations of your setup, which I don't have, but I just can't ignore the fact that your bunny pen and hutch design is adorable, and is actually a smaller scale version very similar to what I want to build, except with more reinforce-ment and only going 5-ft tall. I LOVE IT! The plywood over one section reminds me (DUH) to add a shaded section to my setup. Believe it or not, that just made my day. Thank you so much!

It's amazing how much we contribute to others without realizing it. How cool is that?

As far as ventilation goes, how about those dual fans that you can install in windows that have slide-out spacers (like window-mount AC units) to accommodate window size? I don't know if the fans face in opposite directions, creating an intake and exhaust, but just an idea. And maybe one of those rotating exhaust thingies to put on the roof? Of course, you'd have to cut a hole in the roof and have it properly sealed.

Sorry, not being much help at all here for the placement of all your structures.

You folks keep gabbing, and I'll be taking notes. --BB

Can someone direct me to any newspaper articles or editorials regarding zoning issues in having chickens within city limits, preferably in Tucson, but Arizona or outside Arizona is fine. I have a 2-page rebuttal argument paper to write tonight for my Graduate Composition class.
It's been years ago, but I think you're allowed to have somewhere up to 24 hens in the city limits...NO ROOSTERS. I live in an HOA (Home Owners' Assassination), where I am permitted to have a "reasonable number" of hens. Figure that one out. I figure 4-6 laying hens work for me as long as there isn't a noise, odor or sanitary issue.

I work in the Legal Profession, so go look at the websites for City/County ordinances regarding livestock and poultry. City boundaries are so weirdly shaped here in Tucson, one doesn't know whether they're considered city or county. Just driving from downtown to my house out by TTT, I see signs, "Leaving City Limits", "Welcome To Tucson City Limits". It's crazy.

I'm sorry, you wanted newspaper articles and/or editorials. Girl, when is that paper due? I've read alot of posts in the Ordinance(?) forums where folks have written rebuttals/petitions to stand their ground for having poultry, while the "poulty ignorant" City Council and HOA boards argued back. These posts were from cities accross the nation. --BB

LOL. Tomorrow at 10 am. It's only 2-3 pages. The hard part was finding my source document. I chose something else for now. I thought it would be easy to find an anti-chicken op-ed in the Tucson paper, but not such luck.
