I think we can all understand how this feels.

does anyone have an incubator that they could loan me?
I am in the east Valley and I would ask if I could borrow for a couple months. Thanks in advance! :)

You are gone for 5 days or so and there are a gazillion emails to catch up on!!  Won't hurt me - to just read right now.  Not moving fast.  My sweet DH is taking care of my girls right now since my kidney was removed last Friday- laproscopic.  Cancerous.  I guess I'm not as young as I was when I had my gall bladder out or my hysterectomy but I'm healing slowly and it still hurts like the dickens.  I really, really, really want to get out in the chicken pasture- it is crazy.  I also really, really, really want to head to Tucson for the show but not sure I can walk and stand to enjoy the birds.  Amazing what will push you forward!!  My yard and coop and run will be crazy dirty by my standards but it will all work out - especially with the cooler weather.  Some girls are still in molt - but I'm getting 10-14 eggs a day.   Mary all the girls but 2 that I got from you now have names and they come running when someone heads to the fence.  Most are finally done molting and the blue egg is still absolutely stunning!!  I expect to be out in the yard doing light stuff somewhere around mid-next week.  I just can't wait.  Maybe its like the new mom that had a section birth - those chicken girls out there make me want to get better right now!!   Hopefully I'll see some of you in Tucson - just not sure.  Take care and be well........mary
bless your heart, I sure hope you start feeling better day by day and get some strength about you so you can go out and check on your girls!:hugs

now don't push yourself beyond what you want to do, work within your limitations and don't over do it.:old

Oh my! It sounds like you've been through the ringer. I hope you heal quickly.

Well, it looks like I'll be at the Tucson poultry show potluck on Friday evening and I will probably be at the banquet on Saturday, but my cockerel won't be coming with me. I entered him just to have something in the show and to make my competitor's birds look really good. Picked him up to wash him this afternoon and discovered that his comb is a mess. I'm not sure if the big guy got in a fight or if he's got dry pox. Either way I'm not going to show him. No one else is worth entering in his place.

The up side: Now I don't have to worry about feeding him or picking him up on Sunday, which is good because I have to work over the weekend. :)

Ah, shucks! Sorry he won't be in the show but I'm glad you are coming! See you Friday evening

I am looking for a dedicated person that would like to take on the Buff Plymouth Rocks that I have. This is a very rare variety, as far as I know there are only three of us in AZ with these and the adults all came from the same hatch. They just need more time and attention that i can give them at this point. Someone that can hatch them in good numbers and cull really hard to get them back up to good Rock type.

I will have some showing at Tucson, but also have 4 more hens that are staying home because they are still in a hard molt with naked spots. Altogether I have a cock, 5 hens from the original hatch that @cbnovick did last year from shipped eggs, 2 cockerels and a pullet from this years hatches. I would love for them to go altogether to someone that will work with them. Please PM me if you are interested

these pics are of the adults this time last year; I don't have any recent pics right now.

What pretty birds!

well life has been super crazy BUT I thought I would stop in and say hi. I miss my friends. I had a previous engagement for sat and was not going to be able to attend the show however I just found out I no longer have the engagement so I will stop in on Sat and Sun for a bit. Welcome to all the newbies and I am sry for the losses from predators etc I will have to get a minute to read the 20 pages I am behind. :)
