There were some breeds I just had to have again but had to get different coloring than the ones I had before because I knew looking at another white Silkie or silver laced Polish would be really hard. Hopefully the EE I end up with doesn't look too much like Eleanor did.It's so good to see you getting back to raising birds Twinklin! It was nice reading your very thoughtful post about your experiences too. We'll be looking forward to meeting your new flock.
We also concentrated more on egg color variety this time. We lost the newer girls right before they started laying so I had 3 brown that were very close in color and one cream. We are very insistent on finally getting that darn blue egg so not only did we order another EE we wanted to make doubly sure so we got the Ameraucana as well. We should get 2 blue (or one blue and whatever the EE lays), an olive, 2 cream (tinted), a medium brown, very dark brown, and 2 white. I was always jealous of people with really beautiful baskets where mine was just brown so I'm really excited.
