Well, my " first timers" are at least consistent. "Baby blues and torpedoes" for 3 days straight now.

We really eat ours faster than you do apparently!! They are beautiful.

I found a great deal on banana plants at the Lowe's clearance rack after a tip from @City farm . They were only $5 for these big red banana plants, though they do have some sun damage. I'm hoping to get them planted where the chickens can't get to them since they decimated the foliage on my baby Raja Pura banana.

Eggciting! ....It seems like everyday now( twice a day) I go on an egg hunt To 6 nests, all in different places in my yard, lol! My 2 Black Copper Marans For my barnyard mix are laying at least Maybe Threes On the egg scale darkness at the moment! Though their eggs are still Tiny little itsy bitsy things.

Good morning all. On my way outside to see if all the chickens are getting use to the new nipple watering system. It is going to be 103 today so want to make sure they are with the program and get enough water.

My 2 Black Copper Marans For my barnyard mix are laying at least Maybe Threes On the egg scale darkness at the moment! Though their eggs are still Tiny little itsy bitsy things.

Congrats on getting so many eggs already. I am still waiting for my Black, Blue and White Marans to start. Their combs are starting to get red so I am thinking pretty soon now. The smallest egg I got from my BR was about an inch tall. Blew it out so I could keep it. Too cute.

Well, I usually get about 16 a day, but today I got 20. I can't eat them that fast! A friend of mine sells eggs, and can't keep up with her orders, so I sell her 6 or 7 dozen a week. The "baby blues" are getting a little larger (and more torpedo shaped)!

Good morning all. On my way outside to see if all the chickens are getting use to the new nipple watering system. It is going to be 103 today so want to make sure they are with the program and get enough water.

Make sure they have more than one source of water when it's super hot. If one fails, or the way to it blocked by an aggressive flock member, there will be back up water for your birds.

They get wadding pools when its super hot like the 104 it is going to be for the next few days

My ladies were heat stressed yesterday. I lost one and found two stumbling. Put down ice bottles, put one in the water, and turned on the water sprinkler and wet everything down. It's supposed to be this hot until Sunday.

Went out to check this morning and at the same temperature they were fine. No idea what the difference is, but they have more ice blocks.
