Mine have gone from 2 weeks to a month - it just varies.......some have gone sooner - like a first time broody and others who are chronically broody take longer to begin laying again. Big help, sorry!Question for all my AZ peeps. We had a buff Orpington go broody on us. She went to chicken jail and has been broken and is now back with the flock acting like her old self. Generally how long before hens go back to laying after the have "seen the light"?![]()
So glad the girls got a great new home. They should be in chicken heaven with all that grass and foliage to forage in.So hilarious... But true for all of us.. You should knw better than to go to the store to buy egg's!!!! There are penny of us here that can give you egg's... Btw, my neighbor loves the girl's you gave her!!! Thank's...

Seems like mine usually start laying anywhere between 2-4 weeks after breaking their brood or they hatch chicks. Seems a little bit longer when they actually have chicks.Question for all my AZ peeps. For me at my house with the Easter Egger and it was her first Broody, it was one week before she started laying eggs and for a couple of my Black Copper Marans girls, about a week Or two at most even with hatchings.Question for all my AZ peeps.
