Arizona Chickens

Yeah!!!  :weee

I'd say finding waterfowl people in the e.v. is like finding hens teeth, but honestly, there are so many chickens out here that might be possible!  (afterall, goldfish have pharyngeal molars...most people don't think about that ;) )

If you ever would have time for tea, I'm fairly good w/ desserts and would be happy to bring the ducks the snack of their choice as well (btw, nice water lettuce!!)

Oh great private message us & we can have a tea party.. :yesss:

Hi all I need to thin out my roos so I am giving away a few of my free range roos let me know if anyone wants any I am in Kingman it is 27 but feels like 17 degrees right now It is also 428 am and have to go to work OUTSIDE 'sigh' I do security and have an outdoor post brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Are there any phx e.v. waterfowl people out there? Geese, ducks, coot...anybody?

Thx!

Well we had a prolapse to deal with late this afternoon. Our Queenie girl must have done it with egging this morning as I didn't see anything this am when I fed - she was in the nest box though. She is a skinny girl - way too busy taking care of her kingdom! and lays giant eggs. A frantic search found the hemorrhoid cream and while I stood - leaned really - on the sink and cleaned her all up, my DH put on the cream and put the prolapse back, then creamed the opening after was back in. She is quiet, ate a bit of tuna, has vitamins and electrolytes and goodies in the crate. She's going to spend a few days inside with only a small amount of light so hopefully no egg. I then collapsed back on the couch and pulled the covers up tight. While I'm feeling better there isn't much stamina yet so the standing, cleaning and getting the crate ready was about all I could handle!! Keep and eye on those babies!!
I lost a tortoise girl to a prolapse. I hope Queenie heals and has no recurrences.

I'm glad you're feeling better, the stamina will come a little at a time. Just do what you are able.

How's this for a fart egg?

Yep, a whopping 11 grams.
Gotta love those tiny eggs! Here's one from my quail, it was 4 grams, the normal one's 15.

What kind of roos?

27 is plenty cold. I hope it wasn't windy, that just makes it worse.

LOL! It was 27 when I went out to release and feed the chickens this morning. I had to dump hot water over all of the waterers to thaw out their drinking water. Brrrrr.....

Hello! I have this chicken that I thought was a hen for the first part of its life. I hated her from my flock. Her dad is a blue copper Marans, and her mom is either a RIR or a buff Orpington. But for the last month, she has started to look like a he. Can you guys give me your opinion? "She" is about 2 and a half months old.

Some females can have larger combs and wattles. I have several like that. Does "it" have saddle feathers? That would be your dead giveaway. Also, I'm trying to see the neck feathers which, if I'm not mistaken, are more rounded in females and more pointed in males. They're a little hard to make out in this photo.
