Arizona Chickens

I have finished my breeding set ups for the year and am selling my back up Ameraucana cockerels. I have a mauve/platinum rooster. 1 chocolate rooster. 2 black split for chocolate roosters. And 2 blue split for mauve roosters. $20 each. This is a good start for a chocolate or mauve project if anyone wants to start on a great color Ameraucana

Any chance of you posting photos of them?

Yes X2, photos

:weee Found this huge egg in my boxes this morning. The biggest one that I have ever got! It is being compared to a normal RIR egg. It weighs about 4 oz! I think that i want to try and hatch it!!

Yes my egg production is increasing slowly since the days are just slightly longer already. But this beautiful young girl just started laying her pale blue eggs and they are not good. I have been trying to breed a special type, fibromelenotic, crested NN. Her mother was a Cream Legbar with a wry back and had curved eggs also. Not only curved but thin shelled. I am sad about this. Because her looks do fit the prototype I wanted.
Love her feather color! :highfive:

You're such a good Moma! ! :goodpost:

Thank you :) I am feeling better and better about it every day. So far it has been almost a week and she is healing up nicely! Right now I have her on a diet of moistened crumbles with a little good probiotic yogurt added in and vitamin and electrolytes in her water. She has been living inside in a crate with supervised activity time in the evening....she also greets me along with the dogs every time I walk through the door lol Now I just need to make her a more permanent crop "bra" like @Twinklin showed me :)

Latest chicken drama,
Desertmarcy girl "Molly" left a very soft shelled egg where she sleeps last night.. So today all the hen's were singing, "new egg layer".. I went out like 4x.. Molly was in the nest for about 2 hours.. Ugh.. Time consuming for me.. Finally I heard her singing, thinking she left a gift.. NOPE, she was just getting the nest ready.. Hay, at least she is no longer a free loader :lau I can't wait to see the color.. She is a SOP, RIR/amerucauna mix..

Duck drama.. The new layer, which must lay in the early morning, is leaving huge egg's. :weee
2 new layers in one week..
@cyborg
Give us some recipes.. You are a great cook..

Thanks for the update!! @Twinklin is amazing when it comes to her chicken's...

yup looks like a pretty rooster but the only place where an abundance of males is welcome is in the military !  ha :barnie

I wouldn't complain if there were an abundance of males in my town (us single ladies need options...)

Girl's you are funny.. But really you both live in a rural area.. And now a day's who wants to meet at a bar.. It's funny with all the dating sites.. They lie.. That is what I hear from all my clients that have used a site.. Only about %2 that I personally know have had success..
