I think that that rainbow is neat, when my daughter was little everything in her room was rainbow colors

WooHoo to the hunters out there, I hope everyone has a great hunt this year! We got drawn for unit 33 whitetail. I would love to hunt more up north but 33 is our back yard so it is just so simple and easy to go out. If we didn't get drawn then we were going to get deer archery tags. I got my first deer (3x3 whitetail) in 33 and my hubby got his first deer (4x4 mule deer) in 37B. This year seems like a good year for everyone that put in.

LareePGQ~ I am getting into quilting also! I got a new sewing machine for Christmas so I am just excited to do anything with it.

Mahonri~ Praying for your friend. This like this can be so hard on families. My hubby's cousin's daughter (8 years old) had a brain tumor and she ended up needing surgery and in the end everything turned out great and she was able to go back to school. So these things can end up ok.

Saturday we had a GREAT monsoon!!! It started to rain around 6 pm and around 9pm poured like crazy. The storm lasted all through the night and it stopped raining around 7am Sunday morning. I think that was our first good storm this year.

We have 5 less chickens! Yay! DD and I butchered 3 roosters this morning. Then we also just killed two young ones that I didn't want to feed anymore. The three we butchered were hardly worth the effort, but they will make good soup I guess. Down to 21!

It was nice and cool this morning with a dark sky and the promise of rain. I was expecting (hoping) that it would actually rain on us while we worked, but alas, NOTHING!!!

I still have 2 young purebred Ameraucana roosters from Mahonri's stock if anyone is interested. One is wheaten and the other is blue wheaten. I may put them on CL. If they don't sell, I will let them grow up and see if we like them.

Tough day today.

My friend Mitch died this morning at 2:15AM.

He was such a wonderful Christ-like man! He lived every single day to the fullest.

I had the privilege of ordaining him a Bishop in our Church back in 2004. I know he was good with God and that it was God who called him Home. He had a deep and abiding faith in Our Savior Jesus Christ. I just feel badly for his dear wife... with three little kids and another due in a couple of weeks.

Funeral will be Wednesday. We then start the handcart trek up by Happy Jack (that he helped to plan) before sun-up on Thursday.

Great to see Kat and family today. Hope the hatching eggs work for her broody.

I'll be praying for your friend's wife and family. I was very close to being in her position a few months ago, and my heart goes out to her, I don't even want to think about what she must be going through right now.

I put majority of the eggs under the broody once it got dark. She's pretty small, and could only cover nine of them. Luckily, my neighbors have a 'bator and the rest of the eggs will be going in tomorrow.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Does the wife need anything?

I believe he left her with finances in OK condition. I can't imagine he didn't have a goodly amount of life insurance. He just bought a HUGE mansion in Mesa... I can only think that she will move back to Salt Lake where she will be close to family.

If she needs anything, it would be prayers in her behalf, that her delivery will go well and that she will be able to move forward with life and her little family.
