Arizona Chickens

Walked out of school today and found this out front:

600

My dad fell asleep on his way to pick us up.

Oh bless his heart.. Hope he is fine?

I know this isn't poultry related, but does anyone know where you can get scrapple (pon hoss) here in AZ? I've been looking for 9 years now and no one even knows what it is. I finally broke down and ordered a case which is the minimum order from Jones Dairy Farm online but shipping is $45 for 12 pounds which ups the price quite a bit. Anyway, if anyone has any intel on it I'd love to hear.

I don't know what it is neither. What is scrapple (pon hoss)?

Well, if I tell you you'll probably never want to try it and find out how delicious it is. Seriously though, it's basically pork, a few other ingredients, and cornmeal chilled and formed into a block that you slice and fry either straight or dipped in flour. As far as the pork part, it's the facial meats of the pig (toungue, cheeks, etc.) but it can be made from any part of a pig. Pon Hoss is PA Dutch for "pan rabbitt". I used to think it was served everywhere but later found out it's only popular in PA, MD, and the Ohio Valley.
