I envy you that water. Our water is positively crunchy and our water company performs lab tests 2-4 times per year to check arsenic levels because of the mines right behind my house. Our goal for this next year is to make a major investment in rainwater harvesting. I've begun to increase the size of my garden and to also plant more trees, and they don't do well on our super hard well water. Plus, the ph of our water is around 8.5....just like our soil....and most plants prefer at least a more neutral environment to grow in. We have a water softener in place just to try to save the pipes and hot water heater from needing full replacement every other year, and I filter all of our drinking water.
