Arizona Chickens

I have also heard that if you are ever bit by a rattler, you could potentially save your own life if you're able to kill the snake and bring it with you to the hospital, so they know exactly which variety you were bit by and can use the correct anti-venom...not sure how much truth there is to this.
There is very much truth to that. Hospital has no GUESSING as to which treatment to administer. The same would go if you would be bitten by a suspected RABID animal.
I know that the last thing on a persons mind would be to chase down the offender.
I do have a joke about a cowboy being bitten by a rattle snake. It is just not appropriate to the topic here. I think I may post it on Mike And Sally's Joke Thread... :gig

@Lrosell31 Welcome!! Where are you from? Somewhere there is snow! I kept chickens for many, many years in the interior of Alaska and never had one freeze - so I'm thinking AZ is way easier - even where it snows. Those little feathers are crazy warm when they need them to be. AND the breed you pick helps. Again welcome!
Flagstaff az we get some snow but not as much as Alaska. But yeh my chickens had no problems this winter.

What breed or breeds of chickens do you have?
I don’t know what I have. They were given to me as adults. I have 13 hens and one rooster. But I’m getting between 7 to 9 eggs a day. I just got four turkeys three geese and a bunch of ducks to add to my chickens. This is my first time having backyard birds so I have lots to learn.
