Arizona Chickens

And I'm still trying to figure out what i'm gonna do with this big boy! I tried putting him with my black NN's, but his feet are so big he was having a hard time staying on while mounting them and was tearing gashes in their skin. He seemed to figure out a new technique of keeping his feet on the ground, just straddling them, and holding them down with his chest... If he perfects that it might work.. But for now I threw him in the main flock under Remmy's watch while the girls healed on their own. He really is a big sweetie.

Now that one look's to have a different type of comb. What's it called, and what breed is he?

I made my dog happy tonight. I made a salad of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and ranch dressing. I sometimes like to just snack on a salad for something healthy. I gave Buster what was left of my salad in my little bowl, and he chowed down. He loves tomato's and cucumbers! The chickens will get the broken up outer leaves of the head of lettuce, the cucumber peelings, and the scraps off of the tomatoes tomorrow. I'm going to mix it up into some wet feed for them.

Dogs are amusing.... My dog will eat almost anything, I have confirmed he will not eat salad without dressing though.... Add the dressing and he wolfs it down, without he just looks at me like I'm crazy... what did I give him???

 What a good boy! My dogs are funny, if I have veggies out they will beg for some, even though they don't like them. I will give in and hand over a little tomato, only to inevitably find it half-chewed and shriveled up on the ground later. I have learned to only share my veggies with the chickens now haha

She said: who you calling an old lady
me: You. You're 5/6 years old now. Remember you were born in Globe and I brought you home in 2014.
She said: So 5/6 isn't old - I'm still laying pretty green eggs
me: Yes that is true and those eggs are beautiful. Now lets just look at you. You have straw on your butt, you have wet waddles where you didn't wipe your beak when you had one of your many drinks of water and your feathers all all over the place. AND last, probably not least look at those feet.....are they even the same shoes?
She said: well........... got any mealy worms?
me: I am pleased to introduce to you Madam Molly McMuffin, age 5/6 - probably closer to 6. She is a standup comic and you just gotta love her to pieces.

Ha Ha too funny, I think we all have been there...is she a black Australorp?

Hey Chicken Lovers in maricopa,
I am damzil chick in Laveen Az.
I have 15 plus 6 chicks at the moment, 2 dogs, lots of in and out cats,2 horses, and 2 blue crown conures.
I started loving chickens alittle over two years ago, started with about seven and ended up with over 50. Slowly the Coyotes are killing them off, which is why I only have 15 now..HATE COYOTES!!!! I only have black Australorps, silver laced wyndottes, alot of what the hell are these? I found this site by just searching the internet and came across it. Ordered my first back of chicks from this site, I think it was this site...still have a few of them left.
I am married, two grown adult children, three Grand Children, and hopefully more to come.
I love to ride, stay outside and do what ever it is that I can get into, build things-made a awesome chicken hutch out of lots of palletts. Needle point, crochet, sew, and love LOVE to build puzzles.
So I was told to come to this thread due to some people from Laveen. I use to Love Laveen, but the new builds have taken over the whole area and now I can't ride due to idiots driving without caring about people on horses. No where safely to ride anymore. Just too many people now, alot of low life people have moved in around the area. Want to see a walmart scenario, go to our Frys on 51st ave and Baseline. YIKES!!!
If it wasn't for the love I have for our home and yard, we would have been gone along time ago. Of course we are always looking for the next sangri la....hey one can dream!! damzil chick

Mine won't eat the lettuce without the dressing, but he will eat the tomato's or cucumber slices without it on. He does have to have at least butter on his bite of toast.
