Hey Chicken Lovers in maricopa,
I am damzil chick in Laveen Az.
I have 15 plus 6 chicks at the moment, 2 dogs,lots of in and out cats,2 horses, and 2 blue crown conures.
I started loving chickens alittle over two years ago, started with about seven and ended up with over 50. Slowly the Coyotes are killing them off, which is why I only have 15 now..HATE COYOTES!!!! I only have black Australorps,silver laced wyndottes,alot of what the hell are these? I found this site by just searching the internet and came across it. Ordered my first back of chicks from this site, I think it was this site...still have a few of them left.
I am married, two grown adult children,three Grand Children,and hopefully more to come.
I love to ride,stay outside and do what ever it is that I can get into,build things-made a awesome chicken hutch out of lots of palletts. Needle point,crochet,sew, and love LOVE to build puzzles.
So I was told to come to this thread due to some people from Laveen. I use to Love Laveen, but the new builds have taken over the whole area and now I can't ride due to idiots driving without caring about people on horses. No where safely to ride anymore. Just too many people now, alot of low life people have moved in around the area. Want to see a walmart scenario, go to our Frys on 51st ave and Baseline. YIKES!!!
If it wasn't for the love I have for our home and yard, we would have been gone along time ago. Of course we are always looking for the next sangri la....hey one can dream!! damzil chick

OH PLEASE DON"T GET ME STARTED ON DOGS!! My two Genevere and Merlin are sooo bad that they would rather starve allday until they go to bed incase I have left overs for them. Seriously, they have a full bowl of Pedigree in the dish and they will not TOUCH IT until the know I am off to bed, then they go to it, but the whole time they are looking towards me as I am walking off as if saying," No mama look we are eating it,TREAT????

Yes, we sure can spoil our pets. By the way, I see that you have Australorps and I know that you are trying to re-inforce your coop and pen against the coyotes to protect your remaining flock. How many of the Black Australorps do you have? I have 2 of the Blue Australorp cockerels that are about to start crowing and breeding if you want one or both. They are free.

GOD I WOULD LOVE to get them, BUT the roosters I have are very VERY mean and kill any Rooster I put in there, I had about 10 of them thanks to my STUPID Neighbor who decided he didn't want any of them anymore, so my two roosters became twelve and now I deal with them remaining four that are sooo agressive with my females and the girls show the signs of mating them too much. I would love to trap them and feed them to the Coyotes, but I just can't bring myself to do it. The black Australorps are the best one the breeds and also are fantastic brooding girls. I have one girl,one supreme out of the three left:(,so I just call her supremey, and she just walks up to a nest even if it has one or four eggs in it and just starts to hatch... I love her...I really would love to get your boys, but I could not stand if they got taken by the coyotes or killed by the other buttheads. And they are young so my buttheads would bully them to death. so sad, OF COURSE:):) I could put them in a medium size hutch I have

The 2 Blue Australorp cockerels that I was talking about are not from hatchery stock. The Splash Australorp rooster shown in my avatar picture is the grandpa to them.
 
Doesn't matter to me where they hatch from, I love the breed period, even if they are mutts, some of mine are, they are still Chickens or Roosters and that is what I love....:):) But you are also soooo far from me.......we are in Laveen, aren't you out in maricopa...?

Yes, I am in Maricopa. I'm getting out of doing the Australorps and sold most of my breeders Australorp's to a lady that live's in Durango, Colorado. She drove down here and bought almost all of mine. I still have these 2 boys left, and if they don't get re-homed, they will be going in my freezer soon.
 
Welcome @damzilchick sounds like you need land further from the city if you're looking for a chicken enclosure that's safe check out my YouTube video on my 360 enclosure built it after a bobcat almost got my hen

My dog's stomach is sensitive she survived parvo as a puppy so only dog food and milkbones for her most times
My chickens would never forgive me if I didn't share with them ;)
