Arizona Chickens

Mmmmm green chili beef burro...sounds delicious! I sincerely hope this is not the end of our summer rain. I saw the forecast for the weekend/next week and it's pretty offensive. Looks like I will be going back to misters and ice blocks!
Lady and Rosie had their wraps changed and feet cleaned this evening. Lady looks a lot better, it's all white and no more signs of the infection. She got neosporin get and a new wrap. Rosie had her scabs taken off and some yellow stuff removed, I really hope I got it all. Time will tell. Poor thing was a real trooper. Then she got neosporin and a new wrap. I need to go to the feed store soon for more Vetricyn spray...luckily I have been selling eggs for $5 a dozen so I have enough in my chicken change jar to cover that cost!

They are good! There's a restaurant in Maricopa called The Headquarter's Restaurant. Hubby stopped there tonight. I always get the same thing from there. Hubby like's the salsa there (hot) and get's the beef enchilada's. Of course we have to get an order of the FF's for Buster (our dog). :gigBuster has a full belly now and is taking a doggy nap.

I still have the timer's for the mister's on at the far end of the run set to go off in the hottest part of the day. They can use it if they need it. So far, I see the Australorp hen using it the most. The Crested Cream Legbars go back and forth in and out of it. The Naked Necks and Breese want to be mostly inside of the coop, but come out for food and water!

I'm glad that your girl's foot is better.:D

August is usually the best for monsoon storms so we will get more at least clouds and high winds

Got a piano today going off to play now that the bubus are tucked in

@SonoranChick how is your hen with the crop issue?
Aw thanks for asking about Momo! She is still having crop issues, and has not laid an egg in over a week. I rarely see her at the food containers. Her poops are mostly grit and liquid but she did do one with solids in it today, so I'm not sure what to make of that situation. Despite her symptoms, for the most part she is acting fine. She had a few days where she seemed to have less energy but she's back to her usual self, bossing the others around and going for treats like watermelon and oil bread. She likes the bowl with ACV water in it, I see her there a lot. I'm still massaging her crop and looking for any changes, like if it starts to sour. I would think that if she had a blockage in her lower digestive area she wouldn't have made it through the week, but this chicken is still kickin'! Something is not right but I'm hoping for the best.

My incubator is still holding the right temp and humidity, so the eggs are in the right environment. Like I said, there are 12 eggs in there; 9 of the light tan (NN/Breese), and 3 blues (CCLB). My White NN/Breese roo is over the hen's. Hatch is due on Aug. 7th and yes, I will sell some of these if someone is interested, since my breeding flock is now how I wanted it to be.

For those who live in city of Chandler, please help. Somehow I went to read the city code of ordinances cause I remember we can only have 5 hens. But I couldn’t find any info about chickens except for no rooster and consent of 200 feet from neighbors. Did I remember wrong or things have changed?

I don't live over there, so I am unable to help you with what you are looking for. I just didn't want you to think that your post was being ignored. :) Maybe one of the others can help you with that soon.
