Huh, I noticed mine changed but not when...are you guys getting storms down there yet?
Nothing here yet, and I hope that the rain doesn't just go around me this time again.
Ooooohhh that's so frustrating. I feel bad for that person's flock if they never get supplemental fruits of veggies, or anything other than boring bagged crumble. It's blatantly obvious that chickens go nuts for treats and special foods! Mine have been playing flag football al week when I toss a few grapes in. Not to mention it's good for them to have a variety of different things in their diet...and mine definitely have their own likes and dislikes as well. They will not touch squash, frozen peas, and thyme. Mine love basil, and I know many people whose chickens won't touch it. I'd have to absolutely agree with you on all of your points.I wonder what makes those change? Welcome to free ranging lol.
It's about treats and feed. The person is ragging on me about the fact that I think my chickens are happy when they get special things like watermelon and cucumbers.
Apparently, they have no joy and all they need is bagged food made by some company hundreds of miles away that's "perfectly formulated" for their needs. Variety is unnecessary and it spoils them. I'm feeding them cookies and cake by giving them fruit, veggies and meat
One of my girls won't eat grapes or raisins, ever, period. That is dislike. Some don't care for squash, and even greens are less liked when given repeatedly. So yea, I think animals get bored with the same thing day in and day out.

I've gotten into it with someone on BYC when I asked for deworming advice. A very aggressive user told me I was "living in the matrix" since I was open to using non-natural meds to get rid of tapeworms. I always try natural remedies first, but if they don't work, I look to see what the other options might be. This particular user hurt my feelings and made me so upset, I just closed down the website and went out to the coop for a long time. It's hard not to get all riled up, but at the end of the day it's just some stranger on the internet who I'll never converse with again. I am so happy I have my AZ crew and I rarely feel the need to venture out into the wide world of BYC much anymore.
