Arizona Chickens

I know it's too early to tell boys from girls, but I'm giving Blue the side eye. She's a Blue Orpington but has always been bigger than my two Buff Orpingtons. Shouldn't different color varieties still be the same-ish size? Her comb is also bigger, and she has noticeable wattle already. Nothing is pink or red yet, but still, I'm keeping a close eye on her. She's 17 days old. I'd be really bummed if she's not a pullet, she's got such gorgeous coloring.

:gigSounds like Picasso made the right choice! Any idea yet if it is a pullet or roo?
I'm not familiar with the Sussex breed and not sure of the age so it's hard to say if I compare my roos at the same age/size they were a lot redder than she is. Hubby thinks it's a girl I'm hoping bc I already have a trio chorus of crows going on now lol

I would have loved to see that! Picasso - be a girl! A really cheeky, assertive girl :D

I think so! She has to be a spunky one to have survived that first owner and a bad crop and a bad leg she is a fighter for sure :)

You'll know soon enough :) I wouldn't worry though bc every bird is different and has different growth rates. My mama hen rambita grew and pinked up her Crest sooner than her sisters. Plus another buff that had a bigger Crest than the others to me it looks like a pullet still

Looks like a girl to me!!! I've never had a boy yet that had that long of a tail that early. It's been a surefire sign of a girl. :)
