Arizona Chickens

I'm a bit frustrated that mama hen and chick can't be with everyone still...

Today when the sun came out I let them out and babysat.. First 20 minutes all was fine, but then Rambita fought with mocha again.. My biggest issue though wasnt that but that mocha and pollyanna were giving the Chick a hard time who is smart and ran and jumped on me.... She is only 5 weeks old too... so back they went to the no touch area. :barnie:he

Rambita is looking anxious to leave though so... I figure a little while more and when the chick is as big as Picasso is now, she can chest bump them like Picasso did lol

Oh, and chulita is a pullet :ya

I was double checking doors for the night and saw a cat on top of the garden. I marched out the back door to chase it off and it turned and looked at me for about 15 seconds, then flew off to the North. The owl that gave me a heart attack not long ago is actively hunting our yard regularly now. Here's a pic of what my husband got on his camera

It sound's like Rambita is trying to re-establish her spot in the pecking order.

The owl is hungry, and you have dinner in your yard.

@igorsMistress cool pic, I love owls! We have one that comes in winter time sits high by our house at hoots at midnight eerie sounding.

@BlueBaby you are right about that which I would let them work it out since marshmellow is there to stop bloodshed but some are going after chulita who is too little to defend herself and Rambita isn't as protective so I'm keeping her with baby for as long as I can is the current plan but you know chickens.. they change it on you lol

@Geranium That's good news too! It is a relief! How did the coop,do in the rain?
