Arizona Chickens

I haven't found a feed I like 100 percent yet, I've done nature wise (they have a TON of different varieties) some organic brand at TSC, that bees are attracted to and turns neon green when wet, cal ranch brand, purina... dumor, the birds like dumor but you can find a lot of things wrong with it, dust, poopy butts (the layer one does that) right now im using dumor 20 percent chick feed and its not a dusty bag i guess i lucked out with that batch.

I'm currently replacing my red and white waterers with this blue and white gallon ones that come with legs or otherwise their own stand so no more on the ground dirty or needing bricks, the eggers loved it, wouldn't leave it alone guess that 90 degree heat had something to do with that... but they had tons of choices and chose the new blue one it's a good height too for them

I really like cal ranch for their unique chicken supplies pet club has the fancy choices like pvc feeders and chicken leashes lol

@SonoranChick @Geranium Yes PDZ - I wish I could find it in my area in 40/50 lb bags but not yet. I have one other out of the way feed store to check - cater to horses - so I have my fingers crossed.
I feed Purina Layer crumbles - I get it at Tractor, I've never had the immense amount of dust you get from Dumor (TS brand) or NatureWise (my girls don't like it!). If the flock is mixed with littles or youngers I use Flock feed - also Purina.
AND I think I've said before I use chick feed - usually Dumor during molt - I use it like a treat and the dust doesn't matter because it get pecked at like crazy. Seems to work pretty well. I haven't found anything the bees don't like!
Pet Club closed here in Casa Grande. Rumor was that it moved to Maricopa. I hadn't used it too much since TS opened except to get hay or alfalfa in winter times. Their supply was generally best quality.

I get my feed at the Pet Club over here in Maricopa. I like them. They have another feed store over here too called Chitwood's, but bug's have been found in their feed.

Hazel laid her egg for the day and the whole flock sang the egg song. Melted my heart.

I’ll let you know how the Eggland best feed is. I ordered a 10lb bag of mini pellets.

I’m babysitting Bo. The second chick I hatched that a friend of my daughter bought. He turned out so nice.

Hazel, Norman, Emma and the babies are outside for the day enjoying the weather.

@meetthebubus Veterycin for 75% off! That's a screamin deal! :clap

We feed Nutrena country feeds layer crumble. There is some dust at the bottom of the bag but for the most part it just looks like a bag full of grape nuts cereal. They really like it, so I haven't switched food yet. I do add the feather fixer at times (need to get some soon with this molt they're going through) but they root out all of the little corn pieces and make a huge mess with that kind :hmm stinkers!

Anyone getting any rain action? We have big clouds and thunder rolling in!

They need the higher protein in it.

I've only had the bigger chickens. I had no idea that a smaller chicken would need more protein. Are they really that active?

That sound's sweet that they are doing the egg song for Hazel! I'm glad that she's laying eggs so well for you!
