Arizona Chickens

Well, all that is left is sealing off the fence and then taking down the separating fence and the feathered heathens will be sleeping in their new coop.

Another day older now, this little blue silkie chick just love's to chatter away. When I put my hand inside of the brooder it keep's trying to climb into it. It's pretty robust and active. It's lonely, so I have been trying to spend more time with it so it has grown to love to sit in my hand and talk to me. :gig

Another question. A friend gave me a bag of organic cut comfrey leaves. Can I feed these to my chickie girls. Google is kinda misleading so I'm not sure. Have any of you fed it to them? Thanks.....

It’s in the borage family and if you have seed’s save them. The plant is pretty. I would give them to my flock..

From what I see in the picture, and I do not see complete coop, or all sides, I don't see sufficient ventilation???:idunno

Like the sand under the roost - plus its easy to mix in zeolite when needed. I'm worried that it might be hot in the summer? Thoughts? Is this just me?

I was wondering if anyone else seen same as both of us:idunno

There's not much ventilation, it can help keep your birds dry and warm in winter and cool in summer. Also prevents moisture build up so they don't get frostbite. Are you going to put an a/c unit in the window for summer??

It's not just you. I agree.

@BlueBaby this is the new configuration of my incubator and humidikit. Water collects in the ribs of the hose on tge humidifier and was dripping into the incubator. I moved it to a lower point and that helped quite a bit.

I taped the hose to the bottle to keep it straight, seems to have issues with water uptake if I don't keep it like that.

I'm pretty sure I've worked out the kinks, going to use it for my chicken eggs for the HAL and see how it works out. It's a bit quirky but I like it so far.
