Arizona Chickens

Hubs made major progress on the mini coop this weekend. Roof, door and roost are all we need now. I keep a spare nest box, if anyone goes broody we can add it to this coop and keep the other girls out.
I shared your picture with a friend who's wanting to get silkies, hubby isn't all that keen on the idea, I am hoping if he see's your coop that he'll realize it's not going to be to hard to build one, will make her happy.. :) , I've already warned her about "chicken math" and the "hatching bug" I think caring for the silkies or a small flock would be good for her, easy pets to care for.

Thanks for that link, I think that the Ariel Cabernet Sauvignon Non-Alcoholic Red Wine, might work just fine for my recipe, it's going to be a expensive one at 21.00 a bottle and the recipe calls for 2..lol.

Your welcome! I'm sure that they probably have some cheaper brand's out there, as that was for what they thought was the 6 best one's.

I will dig around, I had not thought about Amazon for it, I'd googled Fre wines before, I've had some and they are wonderful.. most of the alcohol will cook out, but not all of it.. I'm not sure what other recipe that will work with a 3 y.o roo.. lol.

most of the alcohol will cook out, but not all of it..
Cook it long enough and all the alcohol evaporates first.
One time we marinated some Round Steaks, (generally tough steaks to chew) in some Red wine. They came out much more tender, and there was no alcohol flavor whatsoever.
If your reason for avoiding alcohol are for Personal, or Religious reasons, then I totally understand. If it is just not to ingest for health reasons, then cooking will boil it away.:thumbsup

In recovery for 26+ years.. I'm comfortable in my sobriety but I won't put my husband in harms way, he's got 20+ years.. I think that it won't be a issue as it's being cooked as long as it is. I can take one sip of a drink and know if there is alcohol in it.. keeps us both out of trouble. it's going to be a few days before I even contemplate cooking it. will be one of those need to be home all day meals if I cook it stove top and this week is booked for Doctors appointments, 1 for me 1 for hubby and 3 for a friend.. By Friday, it's going to be crawl in bed and stay there. Physically it's not to bad, it's the mental that wipes me out.

I put eggs on lock down Friday night, had two hatch last night, have a 3rd in process right now, kinda expecting him/her to be out by the time I get back from Kingman. Everyone will be moved to the brooder then and we'll see where the other 3 are at.. I am actually only expecting 2 of those to hatch, but I'd love to be proven wrong.. :)
