Chicken match struck reading on here about people losing a lot of their chicks, so to play it safe, instead of the 6 I was going to get, I got 12, I expected to come out with 8 maybe, but ended up with 12 healthy happy girls, after that reading about everyone hatching, I broke down (didn't need pushed very hard) and bought a incubator, it's been on pretty much ever since, I will be sending 4 of my hens and a roo on to a friend that lost her's to coyotes. So that sounds like a good excuse to hatch more, lol,

This is the time of the year where hen's are also going broody but some people can't have a rooster where they live at. Some will be looking for hatching egg's, and other's looking for chick's. Some don't want to deal with raising newborn chick's and want to make sure that what they get is really a pullet and not a cockerel. I have been growing my chick's out a little and then separating them in the separate growout pen's according to sex. I have 3 Naked Neck pullet's out there right now that I can sell. I do have some cockerel's also if someone wanted one, but those are for free.
 
I have a friend that she lost 2 of her girls to coyotes and another that her dog killed all but one and the dog got her roo, so I am sending 4 hens and a roo, 2 hens for each and then a roo for the one. I offered to "suffer" :hit and hatch her some, you know I'd be sad about that.... get my hatching fix and not have to feed them, going to be candling the eggs I have in the incubator this evening and see how we are doing.

it's hard to keep up sometimes, even here, if I'm not on the group for a few days, I'll go back 3 or 4 pages and start reading from there. when I first found this group, I tried starting from the beginning, I gave that idea up.

This thread seems to go in spurts. No HAL for me, I have a week left and I gave up on the March, easter is even worse.
