Arizona Chickens

She is a very cute chicken.

Helped set up for the poultry show today, and when I left about 3/4 of it was done. It looks like it will be a smaller show this year, but it is understandable with molting birds, the economy, etc.
Come on out next weekend if you don't have any other plans.

I assume you meant me? I have 5 kids, arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior (Psalm 127:3), and my arrows are pink since they are ALL girls. My kids are 12, 9, 5, 3, and 21 months. I can't believe you have 3 kids that little! That would be so hard, but soooo fun, too! Precious!

Yes, I meant you. It looks like I need some brushing up on my reading skills. Arrows not sparrows. lol

I remember back in the day when my oldest was 15 and my youngest was a newborn.

Seems like yesterday. Now? They are 22, 20, 18, 16, 13, 10 & almost 8.

Turn around and they'll be "all growd up".

gckiddhouse-- That is a very pretty chicken!

Angie-- I was wanting to go to the poultry show, but it seems like I read that adults were $10 and kids $5? Is that right? I have never been to a poultry show, but that seemed like a lot of money to look at chickens to me. LOL! By the time I drive an hour and a half from Rio Rico, then pay for me and my 5 kids, plus food....well, you know. Maybe you can give us the highlights and make me regret missing it so that I have to go next year.

Mahonri-- You are so right. They are such treasures. I'm so glad to see others that realize that. I'd have a dozen if my husband would let me. You have done it well. Maybe you will have some little ones around again soon! I was 23 when my first was born. I hear grandkids are the best!

Well it took us 7 tries to get a girl (first six are boys)... so if you try a couple more times you can make a huntin' buddy for your hubby.

HAHAHAHA!!! I sure would love that. I have had a lot of people tell me that the 6th would be a boy, but I guess that didn't work for you. Our former pastor had 5 boys before 2 girls (then 2 more boys). Michael Farris, president of HSLDA, had 5 girls before 2 boys (then 2 more girls and a boy, I think). I was sure every time we were having a boy. My poor husband. Our first rooster was flat out vicious. I have never seen a rooster that awful. The kids couldn't go to the coop at all. He would fly at the side of the coop when we walked by and try to attack us through the wire. My knee is still scarred from one of his attacks. But, my husband wouldn't let us kill him because he was the only other male around here. Even our dogs were girls. That was until the rooster attacked my husband. Sugar Daddy didn't live an hour after that. We are definitely low on boys around here. At least we now have a male dog, even if 3 dogs is too much for me to keep up with.

Well, I am right handed, left eyed. Go figure. We had more to overcome!

I am cleaning, cooking, and running my first 10Km on Thanksgiving Day. Well, at least that is the plan. Not going shopping Friday, but relaxing all weekend. Will participate in Cyber Monday.

ETA: will wait until 1st weekend in Dec. to put up the tree as we still buy a real tree. They just don't last if you put them up on T-day weekend.
