Arizona Chickens

We keep the misters going dur the hottest part of the day, ton of shade too, but yeah I think, how do we do it too!
I'm thinking I will have to put misters in for June & part of July. Once monsoon season hits we stay relatively cool up here compared to your summers. June is routinely over 100. Last year we had a week where the barn didn't go below 100 during the day. 🥵 I love the heat but the critters don't.

Hi guys ! I'm from the white mountains 😃 pretty cold and chilly up here today wishing I had the valley weather and sun to enjoy right about now. Being stuck inside with a full Incubator and a toddler is probably enough to drive a lady nuts 🤣I'm on day 14 so close but so far! Hatching out some of my own flock so they are just a barnyard mix. Next week I am picking up a couple bielefelder and cream leg bar from a breeder up here so excited !

I have a hatch that is due on the 16th from my flock in my incubator. I have decided that for now I will not be hatching any more of them, so I will have Naked Neck hatching egg's available if someone need's them. I have naked neck's that will lay various shades of brown, or blue/green egg's. I only sell mine for $10.00 a dozen. Pick up only whenever they lift the stay at home thing.
People say that Naked Necks are super sweet. Tempting, our hatch date is the 14th-16th. I did get to excited about the 55 flowering hens & added 1-2 per day after the start on the 7th. I mean I don’t need anymore chickens.
We got rid of one mean girl yesterday, she went to the neighbors house. I might give them a few more to make room for others. I will message you if we decide to hatch more. I do like the blue green eggs for some reason.

Say Hello to Lucky..lol, my broodies have been playing musical nest boxes, I'd given up on getting any hatch. I picked his egg up planning on just tossing it over the fence, something told me not too, I came around the corner of the house and heard a bunch of chirping, figured that it was that damned sparrow that keeps making me think I have hatch.. brought him up on the porch to toss into the trash can, noticed a lot of black in the hole.. (I thought one of my hens had just poked a hole in it from stomping on it) decided what the heck, open it and see how far along it got, it chirped at me, so now I have one baby, if I can't find another 1 or 2 newborns, I am going to have to go to TSC and buy him buddiesView attachment 2083714
Awe, great!

I don't think any particular breed is typically sweet. It depends on the temperament of each bird as an individual. I have a rotten Nn lol.

Welcome! You can keep that cold & chilly weather over there! I've had enough of it this year. ;) Good luck with the hatch!

I was watching Fox new's last night, and on that little bar that run's across the bottom of the screen it read that the CDC is now saying that the Corona19 virus can spread up to 13 feet, and that it can travel on your shoe's. This mean's that by telling us to only stay 6 feet away from someone else, we have all been exposed already!:rant
