Arizona Chickens

Mine wouldn't eat the ant's, but ants ate some of my chick's a couple of summer's ago. Now I run around the yard looking for the anthill's to destroy.
They seem to like eating them... they’ve been biting the heads off then eating just the bodies... they’ve basically decimated the entire group that came into the run this morning... there are small piles of ant heads all over the ground... if it was red ants I’d sprinkle some diatomaceous earth around the coop to drive them off...

I'm begging to think I have a serious problem. I just set up for hatch number 6 for May. I brought in another dozen eggs and with teh counter full and no room in the fridge I said to myself, there are 14 open spots in one of the incubators, might as well.

Each of these hatches are 5 days apart starting on the 4th. I need to do some serious baking soon, because I have to tell you, storing eggs in an incubator is not the way to go. 😈

You could always boil up a few, then crumble them up so that they don't look like egg's and feed them back to the chicken's. I do that, mixing them in with some wet feed for them. That way they are eating the feed too and not just filling up on just the egg.

Edit: No need to even peel the egg's. The egg shells can go into this also for extra calcium for the hen's.

Good afternoon everyone, one of our hens has been in the nesting box all day so we’re worried she’s gone broody. We’re gonna see if she comes out at all today but if not, how do we get her to break out of her broodiness?
Put her in a dog crate with no bedding until she stops the broody clucks. A day or two usually.
