Are you considering an automatic opener so chickens are let loose in the early morning, at crack of dawn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, while you hit the snooze button a few more times

I’m up at 04:00 every morning and the wife leaves for work at 05:00 (so we are up before the sun... these chickens will have that door open before the sun even comes up

The door came with a flap but I took it off so that more air would hopefully flow through... I figure maybe in the winter I might use it though so I put it up

I do breed out some pretty nice behaved boy's over here.

We had some ants in the run this morning... they have found them and decided that they are a delicious snack everyone is currently eating their weight in ants... they were drawn in by the watermelon I had put out for the chicks yesterday...

Mine wouldn't eat the ant's, but ants ate some of my chick's a couple of summer's ago. Now I run around the yard looking for the anthill's to destroy.
