Bantam Chickens on a Pocket Prairie
Minnie Mouse is getting more colorful feathers in.. I can see a few new ones coming in on the top of her head that are a burnt orange. She is so sweet, my favorite. She is 4 weeks on Sunday.

Knew you couldn't hold out..lol.. I'm already planning my next round.Right now I don't have any red NN boy's, but there is a possibility of some hatching out here next month from the hen's egg's that I chose and have set this go around.
One of these days I will order the White Rocks st run and see how the males grow out. Maybe in the fall, when meat birds are nice to have. I need to get a freezer first!Yes, I also went there to look. The weight of the mature hen's is good enough for me. I think that the reason why they are holding unto the boy's unless you get the females is because they are used on those Cornish X.
I love that, perched on the door..lol.The babies got a couple chances to explore. Moon Baby is the only one bold enough to leave the coop, 2 are considering it, and the silkies much prefer their controlled environment!
Yep! Moon Baby and the other two D'Uccles are definite perches! In fact, I am going to move the perch in their cage back up.. the silkies keep picking at their feet while they are all on it. I'll move it to a foot high again. She also likes to fly to the top wire of the coop and hang upside down!I love that, perched on the door..lol.
I'm really happy with them and glad I got them. Now i need to figure out what to make an indoor dust bath for them from! They are taking a dust bath in the mash that has fallen to the floor, gross!I love that, perched on the door..lol.
