I do not think a living bird would let you do that to her tail feathers! They once dyed chicks for Easter, illegal now!

Here is a photo taken yesterday of a silver chick @BlueBaby swaped me -- along side a 3 week-old white rock. This chick is 4 weeks old, isn't that right?
It looks less barred and more silver now. (Try not to look at all the clutter on my workbench)!

It was all I could do to catch her while she was in the nest box! And to do that I had to block off the exit and open the top carefully. I think Windows Paint is much easier, even if it isn't permanent.

Thank you for looking. I thought he was a boy, but then this week i thought differently! He is black, just has his grey baby down feathers coming out. Darn! I think you're right. Its been the biggest chick all along.

I sent the dna test samples 3 weeks ago, but they finally confirmed receipt Monday and said it could be up to another week before i find out. The whole point of paying was to rehome BEFORE we got attached! Too late now.

Silkie roosters are great unless you can’t have them. My one follows me around when I’m doing things and another thinks I’m his hen and sits by me. So if you can have roosters dont be sad they are great!

I'm not even allowed to have chickens, let alone roosters, so mine are living inside my house w me ((

I think I found new boy feathers coming in on the black one I'll try not to think about it and enjoy the weekend. I do think the little partridge is a girl. My daughter says no more silkies! (I REALLY wanted a silkie), apparantly I have excellent D'Uccle picking skills, so she wants another one of those if the silkies end up boys. The waiting is too stressful for her (and me)!

I need to order some insulation boards as a base for our temporary summer pool! I ordered it back in March in case we were stuck at home, figured things might get worse before they got better. And now that $70 pool is going for $200-300!! Scalpers out there!
