Arizona Chickens

It's been very windy out there today. I did get a 1st white pullet egg out of one of the Silver Grey Dorking's though, and I was out there when she layed it.
Yes! We took our dogs out for a walk and the dust and debris blowing everywhere made us come home earlier than usual haha. Although I do hope the wind delays some of the summer heat coming our way :)

I didn't see any real rain in the gauge but the ground is wet in Chino Valley. The neighbors clocked the wind at 45mph yesterday. I thought it might be more than that as I watched a little birdie hanging on for dear life out my window and dogs were hunkered down with me inside. Clouds building in distance today. I think the wind stressed the hens from laying - only 13 eggs yesterday (20 the day before).

You guys in Chino Valley get more wind I think. We had some out on the highway, I was driving to Phoenix yesterday and a big rig did not make one of the downhill curves, it was down to 1 lane just past the rest stop. We took my neighbor's giant SUV, you could feel the wind hit it. I do not think it is any better in that wind than my Smart Car.
