The baby chick seems to be walking better this morning and her feet didn’t seem to be as crooked but we went ahead and made the ‘shoes’ to hopefully straighten them out within a few days. Now we’re just supervising and making sure she doesn’t try to peck them off. I forgot how entertaining it is to watch baby chicks go about their day, they’re adorable I believe two are Easter eggers, two are Rhode Island reds and two are Plymouth Rocks for a total of six.

I'm glad that you made the chick shoes and hope that it will correct the problem.

My DH is. He is diabetic with his kidney's going bad, but the Dr. want's him to eat more protein. I heard that too much protein can also ruin your kidney's, so I don't get it.

yeah, you need quality protein like egg and chicken (at least that's the theory for renal formulas for dog food). It's lower protein and more of the energy comes from carbs.

Well, he say's that he's following his Dr.'s order's. At least he stopped sucking down all of the soft drink's, chocolate candy, and ice cream that he was doing before. You wouldn't believe how much of that he was doing before.

LOL, they'll get used to it. Mine did. The girls like to sing the you-won't-believe-what-just-fell-out-of-my-butt song. You'd think after a while they would just lay them as a matter of course, but the song must be sung. Guess it's a chicken thing.

I'd like to know how the chick's foot is doing, too.

Yes, that's definitely what they love too!! Elsa and minnie, my previously super quiet chickens have found their voice!! I think the dogs like it too, they run over each time. I just wasn't expecting them to join in! I need to record the chaos
