Those are good layers! One of the Cowgirl's green egg's hatched, so I have another NN chick now that will most likely lay a green egg if it's a girl when it grow's up.
She was lonely! We had rain and cracked 70 degrees today, very nice! The heat is on in the room with the incubator, where Dylan lives. It's very warm up in Chino Valley area too. I just moved all the Polish into a chicken tractor and I put 10 year old Floppy (Black Star) into her little coop outside (we moved the old one from Mesa) and she ended up free ranging by the chicken tractor because I didn't notice there was a missing door panel!
Well I just picked her right up and she's in with the Polish now - I can see them all from my office window and they are getting along just fine not separated (like they have been in the greenhouse). This is great!
It got up to the mid 60's here today.
And the chicken coop builder guy just left. He's going to get me an estimate and talk to his brother. He thinks they can use what's here to make one large chicken coop in between two big piñon trees for shade and have it nice and close to the house. The current coop is about 5 x 10, but there was another wall hidden in the bushes made out of the same wood that is maybe 14 feet long. The wood is so solid and nice we didn't want to waste it, and I told him nobody said chicken coops must be rectangular. So if we go ahead with the project (fingers crossed it's an affordable price), I'll have a 5 or 6 sided coop. A chicken palace!![]()
Good evening everyone! I have a quick question!
Part of our yard is cemented in. Our chicks love to be on the cement for whatever reason. They poop on it, I clean it every day. I use just water, vinegar, and a scrub with a handle.
There are spots where the vinegar water collects at the pavers at the end. They love to drink it! Is this going to cause any issues? They do just fine after every day. No signs of anything hurting them. But just looking for opinions.![]()
Vinegar, especially diluted in water, that they are willing to drink = good to go!Good evening everyone! I have a quick question!

They are about 4 weeks now.I don't see why the vinegar and water would hurt them, although I use the Mother's Apple Cider for my flock. How old are your chick's?
