Arizona Chickens

10 year old Black Star, Floppy, bit the dust this afternoon...she had 9 lives...the last of my 2010 flock. We are surprised she actually lasted this long and at least she went quickly. She didn't want to walk to the special annex with the Polish this morning so she just stayed in the Greenhouse. By late afternoon she was gone to the chicken coop in the sky.

Sorry that you lost her. Yes, she did have a pretty good run on life for a chicken.

It look's like I'll be getting 2 dozen hatching egg's on Saturday that will be able to go into my incubator.

Sorry for your loss of Floppy. I"m sure she had a great life (or 9) with you. It's nice that she went peacefully.

Did anyone else get a bit of rain and wind just now? My chicks are running up into the coop for shelter haha, my older chickens seem to be enjoying the wind and are out in the run. I’m guessing it’ll be just a few more months until I can integrate the chicks! They seem to be getting bigger with each passing day :) This weather calls for a nice night out on the porch :love
We not a spot of rain about an hour before you posted. My goat boys were VERY unhappy. I had just moved them into a new corral but hadn't put up the overhead protection yet...

My next door neighbor has 2 male goat's, but they don't have sense enough to get out of the rain whenever we do get rain.

I noticed that! The other half of my story was that I hurriedly got a cover over part of the corral. The billy and the whether ran in, looked at me, bleated, and ran back out to paw around the corral, rub against the fence, and do other goaty things.
