Arizona Chickens

No more BLRWs in my bators... all yolkers. perhaps there will be one or two remaining in Laree's I don't remember.

I candled tonight ... went from 82 at the start to 53... Post Office was real tough on the eggs... especially those from WA.
I hope I get at least 40 but I know from past hatches I usually take out another 10% or more as quitters at lockdown.

Wonder how many of the 42 Laree will have remaining at lockdown. 18 were from onthespot and most of her's in my bators are yolkers. the other 24 were from my coops so hopefully I'll have some marans replacements. My two remaining marans have totally stopped laying.
Noskiveez... I got my second polish egg from the birds I got from you, but he isn't doing his thing... but he's really learning to crow.. If it weren't for him I would have been late for work this morning!

I know my other polish eggs are duds. I guess she quit letting him do his thing or I just have too many hens (17) with one roo.
I watched him get around yesterday when they were free ranging... so maybe the Easter Hatch will be good for me.

Yay for the second egg. Hopefully he will get his hind end in gear and start showing the girls some attention. I had two bbl roosters and kept the nicer of the two. The other had poor lacing and had a thin crest.

HEY I just looked in my hovabator and I indeed have two BLRW eggs in there as well as a MFC, a Lav orp and a BBS Maran!!!

I so hope they hatch.. I've never owned a wyandotte.

Good luck with the Wyandottes. I've got a SLW (hatchery stock, but still a pretty girl) who lays a nice speckled brown egg.

Just looking to see if I can do some enableing....there is a Hovabator on CL for $40. Its in Vale somewhere near Tucson I'm guessing. Its listed in Tucson. Just sayin.

I'm in need of some Lavender Silkies. Really badly.

Does anyone have any in Tucson? We'll be heading in that direction to celebrate the holidays with my Mother's side.

Scarlet or Janice may have some. I have a little PQ lavender who is free to a good home. He should not be used for breeding, however, as his spine is quite crooked. He, however, is completely unaware of it, and is a healthy happy little boy.
