Arizona Chickens

I didn't realize they had a cabinet sized model!
Ha, 22 eggs is enough for me! I put in 20 duck eggs and hatched 11 ducklings. Plenty for my small flock! Sometimes people get 100% using the NR 360, there is a whole thread here about it. For a backyard size flock, 10 new layers is just right. I am thinking that if the Welbars lay a nice egg, that is what I might hatch next. I really liked how easy it was to spot the cockerels from day 1 on those. I have 2 of the hens and one cockerel. Too many pretty boys!

Yes, 22 egg's is enough for now. You can always buy another 360 later if you needed one. I figured that it was about time for me to update from these 2 styrofoam incubator's, but now I'll have to figure out what to do with my 2 old one's.

Would your old ones be good for lock down and hatching? The only thing I do not care for about the 360 is that is is a pain in the pattootie to clean. Not doing the hatching in it would be very nice.:hmm I like how easy it is to adjust the humidity, and the display seems pretty accurate, & the temp never changes once it gets up to the temp.

Yes, I probably could use the old one that doesn't have the auto-turner in it for that. I guess I could sell the one with the turner in it later if someone needed one.

But I don't have any Dorking's over here now, and if I did, those would be NN Aloha/Dorking mixes?
The biggest nicest Dorking boy here is that colored one. Now that the heat is off, I could be persuaded to give him a ride over to your place. It might be fun to see your Alohas, and maybe if you have fertile eggs I could trade him to you for some NN Aloha eggs?

What, and look at my 2 broody NN Aloha's sitting the nest boxes? My adult's feather's aren't looking the best right now, because they like standing under the mister's when they come on.

The younger ones in the grow-out pen all still have nice looking feathering though. I still have 3 of the Lakeshore Egger's and an Aloha in the grow-out pen. They aren't big enough to turn loose with the adults yet, I don't think.

@Parront, the Lakeshore Egger's lay the green egg's. They are sort of like the Easter Egger's, but the Crested Cream Legbar was used instead so no big puffy cheek's, and no pea comb's.
The pea combs are not really what you need in the desert, anyway.
For a while I was getting 3 big green eggs every day from these NNs, and only 3 of them lay green eggs. Now they are down to 1 or 2, but the White Rocks and Brown sex-link have just taken a break completely this week, so I am short of eggs for the people who usually get them from me. There are some new layers growing up, but they are still too young. I will be selling the small white eggs instead if this keeps up, some people like them if I give them 18 small eggs for the same price as 12 large ones. I have been pickling the smallest in jars, they are just the perfect size to pop one in your mouth.
