Arizona Chickens

so will you create auto-sexing naked neck/aloha/bielefelders?
I will if the NN's will cooperate with me, but I also want the pure Bielefelder's too. Some people unfortunately can't get over the sight of a Naked Neck chicken, and it will be easier if I can know what sex that they are after they hatch. I won't have to feed them to grow them out a bit to tell, so they can be sold sooner.

That should be nice! :)

I'm moving chickens around this weekend. Big Ben and the three Leghorn hens joined the Dorkings in the big coop. That should help with his overbreeding the three girls. Now he has seven. They've been able to hear each other for months, and so far (fingers crossed) things are going smoothly except for a brief Mari/Big Ben discussion over who is in charge.

I cleaned out the coop they were in, and put Gabriel, Starlet, and Fancy in there. They will be three months old next week. Now I'm moving the two six week olds into a large dog crate on the front porch until I can reinforce the chicken tractor I got from Walmart. It's about 4 months old, and the wood is warping from the weather. Until it's reinforced, I don't trust it to hold chickens. That means the brooder will be empty tonight! Yay!

It's always a busy time when you have to rearrange the flock and do coop cleaning. I've been in the process of cleaning mine out again. The hen's have been growing the new feather's in but there are still a bunch of the one's that they dropped in there. I have to smooth the ground back down in there where they have tried to dig a hole to China or something. If they were digging for gold and found any, they sure didn't share it with me.

It's Teddy's Gotcha Day today. Six years ago today, I adopted him from collie rescue. And three days from now, it will be my other collie's birthday. So, naturally, they needed gifts. They're getting chew bones and these two toys. :D
