We have a lot of land we are trying to heal / reforest/ pasture/ farm/ and create orchards on so we figured raising some heritage breeds amongst all the other systems going on would be helpful for fertility and sustainability.
I have some silverudds blue’s coming in March with a few other surprise breeds.

Roger is doing great! And his son with the Wyandotte hen is huge! It's been down to about 17F overnite a couple of nites but everyone either has enclosed roosts, windblocks and a roof to sleep under along with feather coats. Only dustings of snow so far so I spread straw to keep feet out of mud/ice. It's mostly in 40-55F during day so they get sunny and warm before roosting. And heated dog water bowls are in each coop.@CaroleW How is Roger doing up there in your current weather?
