Arizona Chickens

Hope I did the right thing... pullets' first night.

The pullets were not going to their roost perches. Found 3 trying to sit on top of a slanted nest box roof. I moved them onto a perch and they did stay there. The other two I put on a different perch. Each set huddled together.

Was it ok to do this? They are a bit high. I hope they will they be able to get down on their own in the morning.
They should be able to get down on their own. How high are the roost's?

Marked them in green....Roost on left I'd guess 54". The one on right a little higher.

The one on the left, they will most likely use that lower board the get down from. I didn't see any board near the right side one for them to graduate back down from.
oh no. They had flown up to the top of the nest boxes (to the far right) on their own. Maybe they can fly down from the higher perch? Maybe I'll have to get up early instead.

Fine to do this and they’ll fly down. I had perches where mine could go up or down. They used them to go up, but always flew down. Give them a nice layer of straw so it softens a really hard landing and they’ll be ok.
