If the coffee grounds are being used as bedding, I don't know that they'd be eating much. If not, then it wouldn't seem to matter whether or not it's caffeinated.

If you still use the original one too, you'll get triple the fun!I went ahead and bought a 55 egg incubator because my 22 egg incubator isn't holding enough eggs for what I need to be hatching right now. Now I can have a little bit over the double the fun, huh?![]()
Congrats on the new incubator!I went ahead and bought a 55 egg incubator because my 22 egg incubator isn't holding enough eggs for what I need to be hatching right now. Now I can have a little bit over the double the fun, huh?![]()
I have to wait until it gets here. I ordered it at Amazon last night.Congrats on the new incubator!
Was she in the water and got her butt wet?Anybody ever get "rough" eggs? One of my Easter Eggers will often lay an egg that is textured/bumpy/rough on one end. The pic hopefully shows it. It's not just speckled but bumpy. Is that OK for her?
Just excess calcium. If it's not crazy bumpy and the rest of the hens aren't bumpy then no need to change diet or anything.Anybody ever get "rough" eggs? My Easter egger does too!Anybody ever get "rough" eggs? One of my Easter Eggers will often lay an egg that is textured/bumpy/rough on one end. The pic hopefully shows it. It's not just speckled but bumpy. Is that OK for her?
No. I had just washed the eggs to stick in fridge. (My skelter was full.) I can feel the bumps when I'm washing them. Was she in the water and got her butt wet?
Edited to add that when I enlarged the picture to get a better look at the egg, I noticed a lighter color at the smaller end. That lead me to say what I did.
Thanks. Funny because I feed all-flock, not layer feed. They have access to Oyster shell. I thought they self-regulated calcium as needed.Just excess calcium. If it's not crazy bumpy and the rest of the hens aren't bumpy then no need to change diet or anything.
That makes me feel better. My Easter egger does too!
She doesn’t do it all the time. She just likes to surprise us! She is like “I scream to let you know I have eggg!!”That makes me feel better.
