Thanks for asking. She still has a gravelly bulge but it is reduced in size. She wants to eat but I'm keeping her from it.Maybe you'll get some soon, after the monsoon build's up a bit more. How's your hen this morning?
I got 5 egg's yesterday, but they aren't being layed as on schedule as they were before it started getting this hot. Thanks for asking. She still has a gravelly bulge but it is reduced in size. She wants to eat but I'm keeping her from it.
I'm still giving her coconut oil and activated charcoal (alternately), and massaging. Hopefully it continues to recede.
With this heat, I assume everyone's egg production is way down. Yesterday, I found an egg inside their wading pool! It had cracked open but thankfully they apparently didn't notice since it was still there.
I usually get 4-6 per day but am only getting 1 or 2 (occasionally 3). I certainly hope it's from decreased production and not egg eating.I got 5 egg's yesterday, but they aren't being layed as on schedule as they were before it started getting this hot.
It could be a combination of the high heat, and if your oldest hen's are possibly starting to molt. A couple of my hen's have new pin feather's growing back in.I usually get 4-6 per day but am only getting 1 or 2 (occasionally 3). I certainly hope it's from decreased production and not egg eating.
I got caught in that while driving on Oracle yesterday! I've lived here for more than 20 years and I've never seen anything like it. Wind blowing sand and debris and cars all over the road, then rain so heavy I couldn't see past my car's hood, with more wind! The water was washing across the road in waves. Cars were being blown out of their lanes and many just came to a complete stop in the middle of the street.Family just got home and I'm hearing horror stories about the rain and wind in town. Downed trees and all kinds of stuff. Ouch. Hope everyone's ok.
Very smart response to the weather! I'd pull over in that too. I'm so glad all that didn't reach our house.I got caught in that while driving on Oracle yesterday! I noped out of there, pulled off onto a side street and found a townhome parking lot to park in. I couldn't believe anyone was trying to drive in that crazy wind and rain!! It was alternating rain and hail and the wind was still so strong it was rocking my car back and forth even thought I was parked. I just sat and listened to the radio until it was over.
Pulling over is the wise thing to do like that, They tell you that on the news stations, at least they do on Fox news. I wouldn't choose pulling over in a dip in the road though or at a cross street in the road, because those seem to be the places that will fill up quick in heavy downpour's of rain.I got caught in that while driving on Oracle yesterday! Yes, those wind's can be pretty wicked, and anything that people haven't tied down ahead of time can go flying in those wind's.Very smart response to the weather! I'd pull over in that too. I'm so glad all that didn't reach our house.
Hubby works out at Raytheon and said they clocked the wind speed at 63mph out there!
