Arizona Chickens

Well, my neighbor did it, she turned Homer her goat loose and it's in my yard. I'm afraid to go out there as it might attack me. I can't go out there to check on the coop. I'm trying to call it in and report it, but keep getting the runaround.
Wow. I can't decently post what that makes me want to say.
Hoping he played Houdini rather than got turned loose to die or be someone else's problem.

No, she told me 3 days ago that she was going to do it because she decided not to shoot it in the head. Now, her goat is my problem to have to deal with.

Edited to add... I'm pretty sure that it is a felony for what she did, as the loose goat has no food or water in this heat. It's been trying to get back in but they closed the gate. She has been out in her yard along with some other people, and no one is attempting to get the goat.

NO, SAY IT ISN'T SO!!!
Just before taking this photo, it said 120'
Our weather station could be off, still ughhh, our plants 🪴 ducks & 🐔 I feel for them. No plants or seeds at the gardening exchange stands until it is cooler.

We have had hotter temperatures, just not 110' for over 2 week's in a row.

Oh wow, when I read you said she might do that I remember thinking, "Someone couldn't really do that to their own animal." I was wrong. 🙁 You can't even get to your coop! Did someone finally come to help you?

Yes, it just got picked up. My husband called a friend of his that called a Mexican friend of his that handles goats, and he and another guy loaded up the free goat and just drove off. I have been able to get to my coop now. I don't know if the goat will be eaten or not, but it's not my problem.

That is much better solution than having goat starve in this horrendous heat.:hit
I guess. If it wasn't for knowing that there are still some good people left, what she did to that goat would make me very disappointed in humanity. It got up to 115-F here today.

My girl seems to be better now from her impacted crop. :wee

She's out of the breaker crate just in time for a broody gal to go in there. lol

Been trading out ice jugs from the water bucket and hosing down the ground. It just hit 121 here. 🥵

On a totally separate note, just wondering if there is anything unusual about my roo's feathers. They seem all curled up and didn't know if that meant anything.

Glad that she's doing better. Who's broody now?

It's 116 over here.

He might be starting to molt. Hawkeye is and his feathers look a mess right now from it. Some of my hen's have new pin feather growing back in.

One of my EEs (Henrietta). My 3 EEs are the only ones that seem to go broody.

I'd be molting too, or rather, melting, if I had to stay outdoors all day in this heat!:gig
