Arizona Chickens

I'm glad that you at least got something. Yes, it was a bit cooler here this morning after last night's rain. I took care of 5 anthills that were being built in my backyard, and one of them was being built too close to my coop and run for my comfort. At least I have time to do that now since I'm no longer animal sitting for next-door.

Your pullet is practicing on how to be a big girl.
I've been dealing with ants too! It's those tiny ones that bite!! They were all along one end of the run. Poured lots of boiling water on them over a couple days.

BTW, today is the last day to buy incandescent lightbulbs for any who prefer those. After today, stores are not legally permitted to sell them.

The one's that I got taken care of this morning were the big black ant's. They seem to like my back yard the most. The little brown ones seem to like the front yard better. They seem to rebuild the hills in the same general area every year, but that just makes it easier for me to find them on this 3 1/2 acres.

I'm already stocked up on them. We bought a whole case of the 60 watt ones a few years back when they started talking about it, and I still have plenty.

Lots of fire ants here too this year. Awful.

Wish I'd done that!

In this case, I think that canned food would be better to be stocking up on.
I did run across a You Tube video explaining the expiration dates on food. It is a good idea to check,,, for your own purposes, but also noted in video,,,,,,,, even salt has an expiration date.
Cans are good for a long time after expiration date. Lets say,,,, you only have canned stuff to eat in a crisis..... You will be very glad you have those.

BTW,,, I think Hostess Twinkies have a shelf life of about, or in excess of 25 years. :old :yesss:.. Stock up on those.:thumbsup

That tree farm that had the fire last year near me over here is burning up again in another section of it. We have been seeing and smelling smoke all day. All of that overgrown under brush under the trees are fueling the fire. There was a lot of wild life living in there.
You'd think they'd clean out the underbrush. Hope it's not too bad 😔

It's been burning all day. Maybe it will burn that whole tree farm up, so there won't be anymore fire's over there in it. I just hope that it doesn't spread to anywhere else other then there. I don't know where all of the wildlife that was living there in it will rehome themselves if they managed to escape though.
