Arizona Chickens

My obsessive habit..er, I mean hobby, is scrapbooking. I guess that makes me a scrapper.

Y'all are really making me want to make soap. I don't even know where to start. I have bought the melt and pour glycerin soap from Michaels, but I know that isn't even close to the same.

TT! :

I just got home from picking up a carton of Aloha Project Eggs from LareePQG! She has the coolest house and her kids are adorable (even the crabby one).

I'm so jealous of the soapers! I've done things like Bath Bombs (salt, baking soda, citric acid, witch hazel, essential oil) but nothing as difficult as soap. I'm intimidated by the lye.

I like the word "soapers".

I like to crochet. Does that make me a hooker?

Rofl! I wish I could. I have always wanted to make my kids hats with braided ties and pom pom poofs on their heads. I want to learn to knit, but my internet connection is too slow for youtube and I can't learn from a book (I tried).

I guess I will participate. I like to wood burn. I used to make disney pictures for my kids walls. I would mix my own wood stain in baby food jars. Does this make me a stripper? Or more like a stainer. I also like to paint.

I have a ton of photos and supplies, I need an avenue. Wanna swap info and training on our obsessions? I'm busy having coffe or tea one saturday or weekend evening but can possibly carve out another soapmaking class! Done it before!

I love knitting! I just decided I should probably wait until my kids are older. I have had all of my work ruined by a curious toddler removing a needle too many times. That is the benefit of crocheting over knitting, but I just think knitting is more fun and prettier. If we ever get together, NoSkiveez, I will teach you how to at least do the basic stitches. There are only two stitches and everything else is a combination of them.

And stainer? Not liking the images that brings to mind.

Just kidding! It sounds very pretty!

Why didn't I ever think of that? I'm afraid to go look at the ingredients now.

tofuranch, that is so great that you're getting locally ground feed. I guess that's why you have to get so much at once?

Actually I only have to get 500 at a time...but it is easier to get a months worth at a time. I get 2000 pounds a month, some gets sold with the chicks that I sell

This is what I need to do. I'm only using 1000 lbs a month tho. This week I've run 150 lbs of crumble thru the blender because they aren't selling mash here anymore. So, I will need to travel into Phoenix to find some.

I also want to find different Pine chips. I don't like the super fine chips sold locally. The waters always end up full of shavings.

Oooooohhhhh! I would love that! I am pretty sure we are too far apart, though.

How far is Gilbert from Tucson? Because I am an hour and a half further than that. Scrapbooking is even more fun when you do it with friends! We would need a whole weekend to do it all!

ONLY 1000lbs?

5pinkarrows: I wish I had the patience for scrapbooking. I always admire the finished product!

TT--I obsess over organizing my scrapbooking stuff. With 5 kids and homeschooling, 3 big dogs leaving hair all over my house, keeping up with 20 (literally) loads of laundry each week, running the dishwasher at least twice a day, mopping every day but still having a dirty floor, nothing in my house ever seems organized enough. I don't care if my scrapbooking takes patience. It is the one thing that when I put it away, it is just like I left it when I come back. It is mommy therapy. I actually get to make something pretty instead of just clean for 5 minutes. And, I am staring at my kids' faces while I do it, and it keeps reminding me how cute they are when I look up to see the next big disaster.
