Ok, thanks. At least that gives me some guideline. Anther post said to gradually decrease the heat lamp for about 10 wks. Do you think there is any preference for the light or is it the heat they like...or both?

Will chickens soon fall under leash laws? Will I have to leash-train my chickens so that I can free-range them?

I think there are a couple neighborhoods in Phoenix that have populations of feral chickens.

Thank-you for the information. I do have a DH; I guess that would mean I am a DW! And here is my test subject to see if I can post a picture. This is my little dog, Miagee, who is very sure the chickens are for his enjoyment, chasing pleasure, and squeak toys.
